The three places which I chose are Lone Mountain, Marina, and McLaren Park. Based on social disorganization theory, the neighborhood with the highest crime rate could be McLaren. Social disorganization theory points out that crime depends on the neighborhood and not the individual. Out of the three places, McLaren Park has a 26% unemployment rate, where women are 31%, and men are 21%. On the contrary, Marina has only a 4% unemployment rate, and Lone Mountain has an 8% unemployment rate. The percentage of unemployment in McLaren Park is exceptionally high, which results in an increased poverty rate of 33% compared to others.
